NYLON

NYLON is a monofilament extruded thread (pressed and drawn through dies in a malleable condition) made from polyamide 6-6.6.

Because of its high tensile strength, even when the fibre diameter is very fine, NYLON is particularly suitable for very fine suturing in microsurgery. Furthermore it is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological procedures.

Polyamides can bind up to 10% water.

The material is coloured with a physiologically safe dye.
